Brian Gossett

My brother emailed me the link to Brian Gossett's blog site where he posts the most various compilations of tunes. The compilations are on different themes: cities, seasons, occasions, etc. They are free to download and come in as separate songs with artist name and info once imported. The artwork for the albums is nice too - he is  a master of visuals!

Besides the fact that these are nice collections of tunes for the work time, Brian Gossett's personal 'folio site is quite inspiring, featuring a wide range of work and personal projects.

In addition to all this, in your free time you can check his FFFFOUND! blog, that contains great visuals from all over the web. You can even get the app (iFOUND!) to get the latest images on your iPhone. I feel like I just gave away a buck...but then, again, it's just a buck. Check it out.

Thought of Food: Hong Kong

After a couple of visits to a city you start acquiring favorite places for different activities: shopping, food, relaxing, etc. It is really tough to continue going back to the same food joints as you want to try different things. A couple of the places that I enjoy are Bang Bang Pan Pan and Nan Tei:

okonomiyaki...
very simple interior - 5 tables + bar
its DIY: you mix the eggs, lettece, items of your choice (meat, seafood, vegetables) and make them into a pancake, which you cook on the hot pan right at the table
and cover with mayo, special sauce, oregano, and some other stuff I dont know the name of
at last - nice funky monkey branding

Nan Tei Japanese Robatayaki joint - grilled food on skewers
very chilled place
dark and cozy

 these guys were sweating...
 I love Japanese neatness!!!
this is what it is all about - you order as many skewers as you like to try - most are delicious
a very cool light fixture - wooden block with integrated lighting that hangs down from the ceiling by the ropes

Sunday Sketching

No time to sketch this week - still in China. Here is a recent sketch though. A simple cup sole with quarter detail consisting of a loose flap that attaches on one end with a snap:
